EQUANS is a leading global player in multi-technical installations and maintenance services. They offer customized solutions and services to improve infrastructure, equipment, systems and technical processes.
The project with Twintag was carried out with the EQUANS Offshore Division where the wind high voltage substations are being built. With its expertise in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) of Offshore High-Voltage Substations (OHVS) as well as the Monitoring and Maintenance of complete offshore wind farms, EQUANS is contributing to the decarbonization and decentralization of energy worldwide.
For the longest time, manual documentation has been a default solution for keeping track of inner processes and logistics at EQUANS. Such a workflow many times caused errors throughout the process or delays of the final deadlines. Therefore, as a leading player in the offshore wind industry, EQUANS has decided to take a step ahead of their competitors and digitalize all the manual work. Together with the Twintag Service Enablement solution, EQUANS aimed to automate its workflow processes to reduce effort and time spent on filling out the paperwork, yet making sure EQUANS engineers have direct access to critical information in the field, ensuring employee satisfaction by providing a simple digitalized process to follow.
The solution
All cables and equipment (5000 cables and 3000 equipment per one project or one offshore substation) tagged with twintags offer personalized digital experience that varies depending on the user persona and the phase of the asset’s and whole project’s life cycle. By scanning a QR code, users get real-time access to:
- Element’s characteristics (eg. color and type of cable, date of delivery to the warehouse, date of pulling and person who pulled the cable)
- Detailed routing information and installation instructions i.e. how it needs to be connected to other cables and equipment using integration with EQUANS internal systems.
- Comments of engineers, safety alerts and testing reports.
All of the product related information is safely stored in the Twintag platform, and can be accessed or edited by technicians at any time.

The Twintag Platform is designed and built to gather and analyze data at scale, ensuring that billions of UIDs can be managed at once. Any type of product/packaging hierarchies can be managed in the Twintag Admin Portal allowing companies to scale whenever they are ready.
Consumer data is stored safely in one place (language, geo, type of product in possession, twintag scans, and sharing). Irrespective of the location, connected products provide companies with product-relevant data and new insights into consumer behavior, preferences, and interactions.
