In today's world, environmental sustainability has become a critical concern. Countries around the globe are taking measures to promote responsible consumption and waste management. France, in particular, has implemented an innovative solution to raise awareness about recycling and encourage sustainable practices by introducing the Triman logo.
Understanding the Triman logo
The Triman logo, introduced in 2015, is a simple yet powerful symbol displayed on packaging and products in France. Its purpose is to inform consumers about the recycling options available for each item. The logo features three triangular arrows, with the word "Triman" written below. The presence of this logo on a product indicates that it should be disposed of through designated recycling channels.
Labeling requirements
Starting January 1, 2022, the label has to be applied directly to the product or packaging - notices on a website are no longer sufficient. However, if not possible, it can also be applied to other instructions and/or documents i.e. care labels, hangtags, and stickers applied to a product or packaging.
Companies have until February 1, 2023, to equip all corresponding products with the notice.
Product groups in question
The Triman logo in France is mandatory for packaging, textiles and footwear, furniture, tires, paper products, electrical appliances and batteries.
